Introduction

The Phone Verification report provides valuable fraud insights about an end user by retrieving data associated with their unique phone number from network operators' records.

Onfido uses a third-party subprocessor to connect with more than 700 network operators worldwide, enabling real-time analysis of a unqiue phone number's attributes. This allows fast, low friction and accurate identity verification, and provides enhanced protection against fraud.

Result logic

The Phone Verification report can return a result of clear or consider:

The overall report result will be clear if the active phone number breakdown is clear AND the risk score breakdown is clear. This indicates the applicant is low risk.

The overall report result will be consider in all other cases. This indicates the applicant is a suspicious or high risk user.
